Banning smoking in public places

I am against banning smoking in public places for several reasons.

To start with, I believe that banning smoking violates the rights of the smokers. Not letting them smoke at cafeterias, parks and streets means that they have to smoke in their houses, but this has also a really bad affect on their own family. For instance, if their children are watching their parents smoking every time they are home they might not have the knowledge that smoking is dangerous and they will try it too. Also their children inhale the tobacco and their health is  affected too. In addition, business men will lose a big part of their customers. If smokers have nowhere to smoke, but instead they smoke olny at their houses, they will not find any reason to go to a cafe to buy something and smoke peacefully.

On the other hand, many people claim that smoking in public places affects the surroundings. I am not saying that this is not true but if you where a smoker, would you like to make your own children suffer knowing you cannot do anything about it?

To sum up, I believe that banning smoking in public places will do more harm than good to both smokers and their surroundings or families.
