Peaky Blinders is an English five series television
crime drama set in 1920s Birmingham in England, after of the First World War.
The series was created by Steven Knight and produced by Caryn Mandabach
Productions, Screen Yorkshire and Tiger Aspect Productions, follows the
exploits of the Shelby crime family.
Peaky Blinders is a famous gangster family set in
Birmingham in England in 1919, few months after the end of the First World War
in November 1918. The story based on the Peaky Blinders gang and their
ambitious and very cunning boss Tommy Shelby. The gang comes to the attention
of Chief Inspector Major Chester Campbell, a detective in the Royal Irish Constabulary,
where he had been sent by Winston Churchill from Belfast to "clean"
the city of the Irish Republican Army, Communists, gangs and common criminals. Winston
Churchill required him to stop the mess and the revolution in Birmingham and
recover a stolen huge amount of weapons meant to be sent to Libya.
The second series shows the Shelby family expand their
criminal organization in the South and North.
The third series starts and ends in 1924 when Tommy and
his family enter in a more dangerous world but this time internationally.
The fourth series begins on Christmas Eve 1925 and
ends in the general strike of May 1926.
The main cast of Peaky Blinders is Cillian Murphy as
Tommy Shelby. The leader of the Peaky Blinders. Helen McCrory as Polly. The
aunt of Tommy and his siblings and treasurer of the Peaky Blinders. Paul
Anderson as Arthur Shelby. The oldest Shelby siblings and one of the leaders of
the Peaky Blinders.
Peaky Blinders presents a special story by moving out
of its own comfort zone and taking the risk of expanding too much and too quickly.
It is an amazing series that can teach you a lot of interesting things.
