China's Yellow River,as the Chinese call it,'Huang He' had always been prone to floods due to the flat land around it.However,in 1887, the greatest flood in world history known as the Yellow River Flood occured. This flood has also been characterized as the second deadliest natural disaster globally after destroying enormous quantities of land and leaving millions of people homeless,while killing 2.000.000 of them.
Coupled with days of heavy rain,the increased amount of water level was the cause of this horrible catastrophe.Unfortunately,none of the residents who lived near the river managed to fend off in time,since the flood spread really quickly,leaving them unable to save themselves.
The yellow river flood, covered about 50.000 square miles and that's why so many people were killed and so many properties were destroyed.A flood like this wasn't such a big surprise for the Chinese people because they had been used to floods,though,they'd never thought something that devastating would ever happen.
